Hello! Thank you for visiting the Preschool Education site and showing interest in our newsletter. I am so excited to be the Editor for the Preschool site; I am very eager to write and post new articles each and every week for you to read. I am a firm believer in learning through play. I have found with my students when I formally taught, and with my own two young kids, that they learn best when they don’t even know that they are learning! Having fun is super important and my articles will hopefully provide you with quick, fun activities to do with your preschooler. The topics will range from arts and crafts to fine motor activities to early literacy ideas. Some of my most recent articles have been:

Learning Through Play
Did you know that preschoolers learn so much through playing? You can use their current favorite toys to introduce new learning concepts such as letter recognition, sorting and classifying, counting, and even blending words.

Early Writing Skills
Before a child can write they must possess the fine motor skills that allow them to physically hold and control the pencil. Writing skills can be developed through fun fine motor activities.

Understanding Reading Terminology
Reading terminology can be very overwhelming to most parents and caregivers. Once you understand the definition and have some ideas for how to teach those specific skills, teaching your preschooler to begin reading is a breeze!
